If you live, work or shop along Lonsdale Avenue, there’s a licensed cannabis store on the 1800 block. This guide covers what to know before visiting Affinity Cannabis at 1825 Lonsdale: how to get here, what to bring, what you’ll find on the shelves, and the North Vancouver rules on where cannabis can and can’t be consumed. It’s written for regulars and first-timers alike.
Where we are
Affinity Cannabis – Lonsdale
1825 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J8
The store is in Central Lonsdale, on the 1800 block of Lonsdale Avenue. That’s a few blocks uphill from City Hall and the City Library on West 14th Street, and well below Upper Lonsdale. If you know the Lonsdale shopping strip, we’re in among the everyday shops and services that line both sides of the avenue.
Full store details, hours and a map are on our Lonsdale store page.
Getting to the store
By bus
The #230 Upper Lonsdale / Lonsdale Quay bus runs along Lonsdale Avenue between Lonsdale Quay and Upper Lonsdale, with stops at 17th Street and 19th Street, both a short walk from the store. Coming from downtown Vancouver, take the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay, then catch a bus up Lonsdale. Walking up from the Quay is about 2 km, all of it uphill. Check TransLink’s trip planner for current routes and times. Schedules change a few times a year.

By car
If you’re driving, check the posted signs and time limits on Lonsdale and the side streets before you park. The #230 runs right along Lonsdale, so transit is often the easier option.
On foot or by bike
Central Lonsdale is one of the most walkable parts of the North Shore. Lock your bike to a public rack and come in. Please note that consuming cannabis on the Spirit Trail and Green Necklace isn’t allowed (more on local rules below).
Before you come in: ID and age
You must be 19 or older to enter a cannabis store in B.C. Bring valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s licence, BC Services Card with photo, BCID or passport. We check ID at the door every visit, however familiar you are to us. It’s part of keeping a licensed store licensed.
If you’re shopping with a friend, everyone who comes in needs to be 19+ and carry ID.

What’s on the shelves
Like every licensed store in B.C., we can only sell products from Health Canada–licensed producers, bought through the province’s legal supply chain. You’ll find:
- Dried flower in a range of package sizes
- Pre-rolls, both regular and infused (infused pre-rolls are legally classed as extracts)
- Vapes: cartridges and all-in-one devices
- Edibles and beverages
- Extracts such as hash, rosin and resin
- CBD products
- Accessories: papers, grinders, storage and more
Every package carries a green B.C. excise stamp. That’s your sign it’s legal. The current selection changes regularly, so browse the online menu before you visit.
How to shop if you’re new
Walking into a cannabis store for the first time can feel unfamiliar. Here’s how a visit usually goes:
- Show your ID at the door.
- Browse or ask. Tell staff what format you’re interested in (flower, pre-rolls, an edible, a vape) and your budget, and they’ll show you what’s in stock.
- Read the label. Staff can walk you through Total THC and Total CBD, per-unit amounts, packaging dates and the health warning. Our guide to reading a Canadian cannabis label covers this in detail.
- Check the limit. B.C. caps purchases at 30 grams of dried cannabis, or its equivalent, per transaction. We’ll flag it if a basket goes over.
- Pay and go. Products leave the store sealed in their original packaging.
Our team gives product information, not medical advice. If you have a health condition or take medication, please talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
North Vancouver’s rules on where you can consume
This is the part people most often get wrong. North Vancouver rules are stricter than the provincial baseline.
The City of North Vancouver’s Smoking Regulation Bylaw (No. 7026) covers smoking and vaping of tobacco and cannabis. Under the bylaw you can’t smoke or vape:
- in any City park or public plaza
- on or within 7.5 metres of the Spirit Trail and Green Necklace
- within 7.5 metres of transit stops and shelters, which matters on a busy bus corridor like Lonsdale
- within 7.5 metres of building doors, windows that open, and air intakes
- within 7.5 metres of outdoor customer service areas such as patios
- near playgrounds, playing fields, swimming beaches, picnic areas, food concessions and skate parks
- in or around municipal property being used for a permitted public event
On top of the City bylaw, provincial rules also apply:
- No cannabis consumption of any kind in a vehicle or boat, whether you’re the driver or a passenger, including in a parked car on a public road.
- No smoking or vaping on or near school properties.
- In apartments and condos, smoking is banned in common areas, and your strata or landlord can restrict smoking in units and on balconies too.
In practice, a private residence where it’s permitted is the most reliable place to consume. If you’re unsure, check the City’s bylaw page before you light up.
And one more rule: don’t drive after using cannabis. B.C. police can issue immediate driving prohibitions, and new drivers in the Graduated Licensing Program have zero tolerance for THC. Our BC Cannabis Laws 101 guide covers driving, transport and travel rules in full.
Getting it delivered instead
If you’d rather not make the trip, see our cannabis delivery page. Under B.C. rules, orders are paid for before they leave the store, delivered between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and handed only to an adult 19 or older who gives a name and signature. Orders can’t be left at the door.
Our other stores
Spending time on the other side of the inlet? We also have two stores in East Vancouver: Victoria Drive, near Victoria and 39th, and Knight Street, at Knight and 41st.
